K&G arrived from Hong Kong this morning and brought with them their particular combination of infectious joy of life and insane busy-ness and… my catalogues for the art fair. They look amazing – looking forward to showing you when I get home. After my breakfast of espresso, croissant and lemon yogurt, which was so good I had 2 rounds of it, we spent the morning shopping at some of Paris’s best secrete butchers, patisseries, and a stunning cake shop before having a lunch of to-die-for cheese, wine and bread. K&G headed off to their house in the country and I headed home to savour my duck confit, goats cheese and baguette.
After having eaten my way through the entire morning, it was time to feed my mind so I headed off to the Musee D’Art Moderne, only to find I had got myself to the Musee Du Moyen Age (the museum of the middle ages).
Not exactly the contemporary work I was looking for but still I spent the afternoon drawing from a 'Book of hours' full of illuminated manuscripts, for some ideas I have - such a luxury to be able to look at the real thing.
